Corvara: a hiker and skiers' paradise
By the end of the 19th Century, keen local mountain guides had started taking visitors to the region on tours through the Dolomite mountains. It was not until after the Second World War though that Corvara truly established itself as a popular summer and winter holiday destination. Today, Corvara is a chic destination with an impressively diverse range of gastronomy and culture on offer. What remains foremost in people's memories of their stay in Corvara is, however, its outstanding natural beauty: the village lies 1,554 meters above sea level and is located at the foot of the Sassongher, Corvara's imposing local mountain. The village is surrounded by the rock massifs of the Sella and Puez Group, as well as the stunning Pralongia plateau.
